So, as I said, I'm trying to balance two stories with similar protagonists and elements, but using two separate genres to iron them out in order to see if I can't develop characters better. Already, I've been having great success in the planning stage, as it's forced me to really see how I can uses similar details to create opposite reactions.

I'll explain more later on as the stories progress, though I'll also try to keep the "director's commentary" spoiler free or separate from the main works.

Also, the title is a work in progress. I'm hoping to come up with something better as time goes on.

Anyways, just as a preview for what this world is going to be about, I'll include a couple of teaser details
-This is set at least a decade before the actual story begins
-The reason there are both kings and emperors is due to how the empire expanded (as for lines of succession Lesser Houses are made up of members of royalty from nations that were absorbed by the empire and only a few Kings or Queens are in line for the throne at all)
-The Collective is basically an ideology about wealth that grew into something akin to a religion. Basically, it says that all wealth is finite, created from the resources of the world. There are certain things that a thief cannot take, as they will always belong to another person. Identity (even if one "steals" it, the responsibility of it is still given to the owner), faces (as discussed, whatever is seen as your face, becomes your face), life, dreams, ideals, and more are all things that cannot be taken, and thus don't belong to the Collective.
